Devin McDonald is a ceramic artist based in Portland, Maine where she works out of RWS Art Studios. Some of the time she is a gardener, a teacher, or working at a farm or a bakery, and clay has always been scattered in between.

This collection of Devin’s work is a mixture of paintings and sculptures that explore themes of accumulation, excavation, and the coexistence and overlapping of growth and decay. Through repetition in process Devin strives to translate the meditative and calming state of making and in turn invoke curiosity and contemplation. Some of the things she pulls inspiration from are nature, investigating stories of found objects, poetry, shadows, and gravity.
